All runners have a top tip that they can’t wait to pass on to fellow athletes. Perhaps it’s the exact formula for building up mileage without becoming injured, or maybe it’s a recipe for maintaining sweet smelling trainers. We’d love to hear are few of your golden rules.
If I’m heading out for a Sunday morning run I always put a peanut butter and sliced banana sandwich in a plastic bag on my bedside table. I set the alarm for two hours before the start of the run, munch the sandwich and then go back to sleep for another hour and a half before finally getting up to head out for the run. This means I have the right energy and the right amount of sleep. It also means that a morning run never seems like a chore. Jane Russell, Bearsden
