From lighter, brighter clothing to essential shades, caps and sun creams you’ll find there's a wealth of items that you suddenly find you absolutely Must Have.
In fact, these days the smart runner has a whole wardrobe for winter running clothing and another for summer apparel. So after you’ve popped into your favourite sports shop, the next stop will be Ikea, where you can pick up a second wardrobe!
Get kitted out
Thanks to longer, lighter and warmer days everyone suddenly finds they have more energy. But you’ll also want to make sure you’re properly kitted out for the sunny season. For a start, warmer temperatures demand lighter materials and more effective wick-away fabrics.
You might also cast off the winter leggings and dare to be seen in capris or shorts. T-shirts and vests will replace long-sleeved base-layers. While waterproof jackets can be hung up as you choose a lighter, wind or shower proof version.
Now that you can shed the woolly gloves and hat you might want to think about a sun cap. And you are definitely going to need a pair of sunglasses, a sporty suncream and a hydration system.
