Inov-8 Race Pro 30 Rucsac H20
Your name: Derek Hamilton The area you run in: Mountain Marathon, Trail, Road
I do a lot of hill walking and have recently started to do some hill running and a bit of road running. I took part in the LAMM 2009 and aim to compete in the Mourne Mountain Marathon and the Monster Duathlon in September 2009.
This was quite a spur of the moment purchase – I needed a lightweight bag to use in the LAMM and bought it 2 days before the event. The bag looks good and was comfortable. The bag itself is very lightweight and I liked the novel hydration system. I also like the Inov8 brand!
Pros:
• Light weight, very comfortable and fairly simple to use
• Good size hip pockets and good pockets in the lid for easy access
• Lid buckles attach to a clever strap system that provides some compression to the main body of the bag
• Bungee cord on the front of the bag is useful for compression or storage depending on how much you want to carry.
Cons:
• Hydration system is a bit fiddly to refill
• The location of the hydration pack makes the inside of the bag an unusual shape which can make packing tricky
• If the bag is packed while the hydration pack is full, a void appears in the bottom of the bag as the hydration pack empties. I found that this led to the bag becoming slightly unstable while running with a lot of weight in the bag (say around 8-10kg).
Technical Info:
• Weight 590g
• Capacity 30Lt
• Ideal for Mountain Marathons and super light weight long distance walks.
• Large stretch mesh pocket on the top
• Side multi access pockets for storage to more frequently accessed items
• Pockets can be closed off with lid closure webbing on outside or left accessible by having lid closure webbing inside pocket.
