Nike's Lunar Glide+
Whilst we know that every runner is unique we also know that there are a few universal constants: all runners want great comfort and fit, long-lasting cushioning, a smooth ride and an appropriate level of support. That last point is tricky because we each have such distinct needs when it comes to support and the level of support a runner requires can change over the course of a run and, in many cases, runners have differing support needs from one foot to the other, which is where Run 4 It’s assessment procedure proves its worth.
The New Lunar Glide+ from Nike
The LunarGlide+ is the realisation of the Lunar product line created by Nike to revolutionise the way running shoes work for your feet. We can’t claim that the new LunarGlide+ is for absolutely everyone but it is an amazing shoe for many different types of runner. The new Dynamic Support platform enables the Nike LunarGlide+ to provide a level of support appropriate for an extraordinarily wide range of runners, from underpronators to moderate overpronators.
The system works by instantaneously adapting to each and every foot strike, so if you need more support near the end of a long run, you'll get it. In terms of cushioning, the Nike LunarGlide+ is built on the latest implementation of the LunarLite cushioning system for incredibly soft, yet responsive impact protection that holds up for the long haul. The midsole also incorporates gender-specific Nike Natural Motion Engineering principles for an exceptionally smooth ride
The new Brooks Glycerin 8, available in men's and ladies' is a true cushioning wonder featuring Brooks’ new DNA technology comprising of individual molecules which join together as soon as pressure is exerted on them. Together with BioMoGo, the DNA distributes the pressure in the best way possible and, in doing so, adjusts itself to meet your individual requirements as well as offering a perfect balance between shock absorption and energy feedback.
The DNA material is an extremely viscous liquid that behaves like millions of small elastic springs on a molecular level. This ground-breaking shock absorption technology hence immediately adjusts to the specific biomechanics, speed and weight of every wearer. Designed for runners with a neutral footstrike who want the very best cushioning mile after mile after mile.
The ProGrid Guide 3, available in men's and ladies', is Saucony's fastest selling shoe across the world as it has all the right characteristics for so many runners. The Guide 3 maintains that trend with a great blend of cushioning and support, and enhancements to further develop the fit and feel of the shoe.
The new version has added SRC (Super Rebound Compound) in the heel crash pad for more cushioning when you land, it also has a larger pad of cushioning under the forefoot, so greater energy return is provided on toe-off (or for those landing on their mid-foot and forefoot). The Guide 3 also features an improved ComfortRide sockliner, made especially for Saucony shoes which manages moisture, is antibacterial and adds further cushioning to the shoe. The Guide 3 may prove to be the perfect choice for runners who overpronate to a mild-moderate degree and want a supportive and cushioned shoe with a responsive feel.
They also feature a full-length Phylon midsole for cushioning and support and Nike’s legendary zoom air unit in the heel for low-profile, super-responsive cushioning. The perforated midsole allows 360-degree breathability and the full-length carbon rubber outsole provides maximum durability with minimum weight. The Marathoner really is a superb choice for anybody looking for a lightweight shoe for fast training or for making an assault on their 10K PB.
