This is an excellent shoe on almost every surface, and has been perfect for running through the winter months on a mixture of snow and ice. The shoe fits well for general hill running, with slightly more mid-sole than the X Talon 212, and the metal studs give a useful level of extra grip on wet rock.
I used a pair of these for an 800km hike across the Pyrenees in July 2010. The lightness, grip and comfort of the shoe is excellent, however I found the shoe a little on the soft side for such a long hike over rocky terrain.
An outstandingly good lightweight road shoe. By far the lightest and fastest shoe I've raced in.
This is an excellent lightweight hill shoe. I think the newer model has been improved by giving more lacing holes. The sole, although not as aggressive as the Mudclaw 330, seems to offer just as much grip and security, and the shoe is so light the experience is close to barefoot running, whilst still offering enough protection.
