Review of Saucony ProGrid Paramount 3

Saucony flagship shoe provides enough support for my needs. Many different shoes would do the same but with full length Progrid cushioning throughout it's the most comfortable shoe I've ever tried. The cost may put some off, but I found it to be well worth the extra couple of quid. Although there is some support in the shoe, it's best to call into the shop and get fitted so you're sure it's right for you like I did.

Review of Saucony ProGrid Hurricane 12

Slightly more support than what I need, but the fact it has full length ProGrid Cushioning makes all the difference. It's got that bit more cushioning than most support shoes but I find it lasts a little bit longer than other shoes I've had, although that's what you would expect when you pay for a more cushioned shoe. Overall - Very comfortable and good value for money.

Review of Saucony ProGrid Guide 4

Great shoe- Sitting in the same category as the Saucony ProGrid Paramount, it's got tough competition. What attracted me to the shoe was the great value for money it offers. Perfect for your local 5km or anyone training for a marathon.

Review of Mizuno Wave Ultima 2

Very comfortable shoe. Great for running big mileage due to the cushioning used. Although it is classified as a Neutral shoe, it's a stable neutral shoe so may be OK if you need the smallest amount of support, if your unsure - call into one of the Run4It shops and find out.

Review of Mizuno Wave Inspire 7

Classified as a Moderate Support shoe the Mizuno Wave Inspire is one of the lightest shoes around, and as a result it's great for long runs as well as intervals. The updated AP+ midsole last an awful lot longer - one of the best updates any shoe has ever received

Review of ASICS GEL-KAYANO 17

Top of the range Asics support shoe. For a shoe with so much support it feels great, extremely well cushioned and great for getting big mileage from before they start to feel less cushioned.

Review of ASICS GT-2160

Another good support shoe from Asics. not much of a change when compared to the 2150. Fit is very similar and you can expect to get about 500 miles of running out of the shoe, which makes it great value for money.

Review of ASICS GEL-1160

Slightly less support than the 2160, with slightly less cushioning also, Because of this, if you need a moderate amount of support it may not be the best for you, however it's great value for money and if not running huge mileage it's a great shoe.

Review of Brooks Trance 10

Fantastic support shoe from Brooks. Great fit and feels very very comfortable for such a supportive shoe. Essentially it goes up against the Asics Kayano when compared to support and cushioning, both have a different feel and fit so it's just about finding which one best suits you foot shape. A firm favorite with seasoned runners.

Review of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11

With less DNA (cushioning material from Brooks) this shoe comes in cheaper than the Brooks Trance and is also that little bit lighter. The only decision than remains is whether you want to compromise on weight and receive less cushioning. A great shoe for getting in the miles.

Review of Brooks Vapor 9

Very light shoe with a mild amount of support. Very similar to the Asics 1160. Would suit someone looking for a mild amount of support who likes a light shoe.

Review of Timex Ironman Global Trainer GPS System +HRM

The all singing all dancing Timex GPS watch. First thing first, it goes up against the Garmin 310XT and 610. It does all the same functions they do, but also comes with a Navigation feature with a build in GPS compass and a feature where you can get grid coordinates off the watch makes it not just great for running, intervals and tempos but also for hill walking and orienteering.

Review of Timex 150 Lap. Tap Screen Ironman

Great piece of kit. Very useful for track sessions where you need to hold a steady pace. This watch acts as a pacing device as well and if you know how fast you need to run each mile/KM you just set the watch up so every time you pass a mile/KM and give the watch a tap (Hence the Name) and it tells you if your on pace, too fast or too slow. Great for track session in particular as you don't have to mess around playing with buttons, just tap the screen and get your lap splits.

Review of SiS GO Gel Plus L-Carnitine

Like all gels you have to find what works best for you, as some people like the taste of some and not others. It's very much a case of trial and error and trying a few different ones to see what works best. The Burner Gels are different than the GO gels in that you can only take 2 a day and they use Carnitine to burn fat rather than carbs, thus making your carbs/glycogen stores last for longer.

Review of SiS GO Isotonic Gel

SIS GO Gels are great for training because you don't have to drink water along with them. They are isotonic so if your well hydrated before you start to take them you should be OK during your run. They don't give you a huge sugar rush and so release energy a little slower therefore lasting a little longer, you also don't have a big dip in energy levels once the gel has worn off. The best thing to do is try a few different flavours and see which works best for you.

Review of SiS GO Bar

SIS GO Bars are great for before or during endurance events as they provide a great balance of Carbs Vitamins and Minerals. Not the easiest to chew on the go and I've found them not that easy to swallow without water. Try a few different flavors to see which ones you like best.

Review of Mule Bar Natural Energy Bar

Great tasting, organic energy bars, with lots of different flavors there is sure to be one to match everyones taste. My favorite is Piñacolada, made from pineapple, coconut and Ghoji berries, it's a great energy boost, but also much tastier than a regular bar from a newsagents and much healthier.

Review of 2XU Compression Tights

Fantastic product. I wasn't sure at first because when I bought them they were new on the market and I hadn't heard much objective feedback on them but they work really really well. These ones are designed to be worn while running, but I use them for recovery as well, and find my legs are much better the next day after a hard session.

10 out of 10 –  Sunday 5th June 2011

Review of 2XU Compression Shorts

Again another great product from 2XU. I race in mine all the time and find they give me great support, especially in the latter stages of a tough race, Very lightweight, but extremely strong. In fact I've fallen on a gravel road and cut my hip wearing them but there wasn't even any sign of damage on the shorts.

10 out of 10 –  Sunday 5th June 2011

Review of 2XU Calf Guard

Very lightweight, and comfortable. Stay in place even during longer events. Seemed to hold their shape over time as well, unlike some other calf guards. These ones are designed to be worn during activity but will also aid recovery after activity.

Review of 2XU Compression Sock for Recovery

A very practical product from 2XU. It's a different material to their compression shorts and tops, but equally as good. Designed for recovery as opposed to activity they are great at what their purpose is, to be worm after activity to aid the recovery of lower legs. I've ran in them in the past, but it can get a little hot, great for colder weather though. If you like a thin sock this isn't for you, having said that, 2XU do a great Compression sock for running in as well.

Review of Adidas Adizero Adios

Designed by the World record holder for the marathon, you don't have to be a world beater to appreciate the design gone into these shoes. Very comfortable, extremely lightweight and yet also offering great traction on wet roads. It's a neutral racer so not for everyone, but great for those who need it.

Review of Adidas Adizero Tempo

A lightweight trainer, the tempo is great for faster runs. Although I know quite a lot of people will use this to run half marathons and marathon in because it offers some support but it's still quite light. My favorite Adidas shoe in the shoe every time. It's still well cushioned for a lightweight and yet can handle quite a lot of miles.

Review of Adidas Run Anklet (2 Pack)

Iv'e tried all different brands of Twin skin socks and so decided to try some from Adidas. They are great value as you get two pairs for £14.50, very durable and comfortable. However, they're not as easy to get on and get the layers lined up as the Hilly Twin Skin socks I've got, once you do get them on they work just as well as the Hilly twin skin socks.

Review of ASICS Kayano Sock

Great wicking sock, keeps your feet dry and blister free while you run. The unique design offers different levels of support and cushioning within the sock to cater for the different levels of support and cushioning in the Asics Kayano shoe, but it works well with any support shoe.

Review of Garmin Forerunner 305

Great GPS watch. A little bit on the big side for some but does everything you need it to do. One of the first on the market and still going strong years later. Newer models will look a lot smarter but may not do anything more. It has changed the way I train since I got it. A complete steal at £149 as well.

Review of Inov-8 X-Talon 190

Slightly lighter than the X-Talon 212 (obviously), same sole, different upper. Not so good for running on sand but great for Mud, Scree, Gravel and Snow. More open upper allows for more expansion in the forefoot and a slightly more comfortable feel if you have a broad foot.

Review of Timex 150 Lap Tap Screen Ironman Mid

Great piece of kit. Very useful for track sessions where you need to hold a steady pace. This watch acts as a pacing device as well and if you know how fast you need to run each mile/KM you just set the watch up so every time you pass a mile/KM and give the watch a tap (Hence the Name) and it tells you if your on pace, too fast or too slow. Review of Gore Running Wear X-Running AS Jacket

Great Jacket. It's not waterproof as the seams are not taped throughout the jacket, but it's taped on the shoulders where rain will hit the jacket the most. I've had mine out in all sorts of weather and never got wet. It is a performance jacket and so there is only one small pocket located on the chest of the product, however it also has a smaller pocket on the inside for holding smaller items.

Review of Salomon XT Wings 2

Great trail shoe from Salomon. Slightly different fit to a traditional road shoe, with a very slight amount of support. The built in lock laces are just one of many great features on this shoe.

Review of Salomon Fast III Jacket M

One of my favourite pieces of kit. I can't imagine not having it in my wardrobe now. It is a fitted jacket so just be careful with the sizing, but as with most Salomon products the Jacket is quite long. Extremely breathable and so allows me to run in all weather conditions and not over-heat.

Top of the range Adidas support shoe. There were some changes made to this model from the previous Salvation 2, all of them positive, it's a much better shoes now, due to being lighter and more cushioned but still offers the same amount of support. If you're after a lightweight everyday trainer, this could be the one for you. Its from the Saucony minimalist range, but is designed to cope with up to 500 miles. There is a small amount of support offered by a bridge under the arch in the mid-sole. Extremely comfortable it's great for faster session as well as long runs.
