One of Scotland’s most popular races, the Stirling 10k returns for 2015 on September 13th. Central Athletics Club and Run4It are proud to host this race in the city of Stirling. The race is chip-timed and ran on a flat and accurately measured course which lends itself to a late summer PB due to the quality field.
Last years winner, Andrew Butchart has had considerable success since his victory, being selected for several GB athletics teams since. He said the race is a highlight of the calendar;
“It’s a superb race, perfectly scheduled for a good performance and it really lifted my spirits going into winter training. It’s great to see so many people throughout the field recording personal bests”.
Race director Derek Easton feels that the great organisation of the race in its early years combined with the location has led to it being a race held in high esteem, saying;
“Once again, we are proud to host the Scottish Athletics championships, a testament to the work put in by countless volunteers. I love the buzz of the Stirling 10k, seeing people break their targets on race day. It’s a race that everyone can get involved in, even down to the children who have the 2k fun race”.
