The adidas Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes features two midsole foams: a bottom layer of LIGHTSTRIKE 2.0 and top layer of LIGHTSTRIKE PRO. Glass-fibre ENERGYRODS 2.0 run the entire length of the midsole in between the two foams.
LIGHTSTRIKE 2.0 foam feels soft and forgiving. This takes the impact out of landing - particularly when you're warming up and cooling down, or jogging between faster sections.
As you increase the pace, the ENERGYRODS 2.0 work in synergy with the LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam to deliver exceptional levels of propulsion. Making it easier to sustain your effort and target paces.
Unlike some superfoam based running shoes, the Adizero Boston 12 feel very stable underfoot. Especially when you're taking corners at pace or changing direction.
In keeping with the Adizero philosophy, the upper of the Boston 12 Running Shoes is very lightweight. This is mainly a result of minimal stitching and a thin tongue construction. Having said that, they offer great support at the midfoot and ankle area.
Please note that the toe box feels more spacious than previous versions.
The adidas Adizero Men's Boston 12 running shoes are one of our top recommendations for weekly speed focused sessions. That's because the midsole feels highly propulsive, but also very cushioned.
Additionally, the dual compound midsole construction offers more durability than their all-out racing counterpart, the adidas Adios Pro 3. Making them a more practical choice for training miles.
At the same time, the Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes could be great racing shoes - particularly for marathon running.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
