Advice for Road Runners: The Asics Men's Gel-Kayano 29 Running Shoes in the Black/Electric Red colourway have been significantly revamped from the Kayano 28 to offer a lighter, softer and more responsive feel.

Underfoot Feel

The midsole uses Flytefoam Blast Plus foam for a soft, plush feel. This foam also provides superb responsiveness. Gel cushioning in the heel adds impact protection and helps to reduce lower leg rotation. The midsole adapts to specific pressures placed upon it due to the 3D Space Construction used. The one piece sole unit increases the ground contact area and smooths the transition from heel to toe.

Additional stability is delivered through the LITETRUSS system. This uses denser foam on the medial side of the shoe and provides a soft, smooth and compliant feel. Finally, an Ortholite X-55 sockliner adds to the comfort underfoot.

Upper Fit

The engineered stretch-knit upper is made of at least 50% recycled materials and is highly breathable and supportive. The redesigned heel counter further enhances rearfoot stability.

The Asics Men's Gel-Kayano 29 Running Shoes are a wonderful update of Asics’ premium stability shoe. They offer top-end comfort and reliable stability when putting in the training miles. With the amount of cushioning and protection in these shoes, they will perform brilliantly on longer runs at slow or steadier paces.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
