Advice for Road Runners: One of Hoka’s most popular off-road running shoes, the Speedgoat 4 offers great versatility on the trails. Protective cushioning combined with the tacky Vibram® Megagrip gives runners a comfortable ride over mixed terrain. 5mm stepped lugs give great traction up and downhill and zonal rubber on the outsole adds toughness.
The upper mesh is breathable yet durable against trail debris, with 3D printed overlays around the midfoot give a secure and supportive feel. The Speedgoat will be good for a mix of paces on the trail with balanced cushioning and responsive toe-off.
The Speedgoat has quite a slim fit so it’s best to go up a full size. If you’re looking for similarly cushioned trail shoe, tailored for faster paced running and racing check out the Hoka Torrent 2.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
