Our running brands continue to develop and improve their shoes, with the aim of further enhancing the runners’ experience and comfort in 2020. And there's been some outstanding progress made with this latest range of Spring/Summer 2020 running shoes.

Let's take a peek at some of the new exciting models that we'll be ranging in-store and online.

NEUTRAL RUNNING SHOES

Saucony Triumph 17

Women's Saucony Triumph 17

  • Category: Neutral Soft
  • Price: £140
  • Weight: 305g / 261g
  • Drop: 8mm

Saucony's most cushioned shoe has been revamped greatly to provide the ultimate in protective cushioning and make long runs easier. They have reimagined their cushioning and changed the design of the Triumph to make this 17th edition a lighter (by 18g), softer and more balanced shoe.

KEY IMPROVEMENTS:

  • New PWRRUN+ foam

Saucony's new PWRRUN+ premium foam now replaces the Everun techonology used in the previous model. PWRRUN+ gives a springy and responsive feeling underfoot while providing a very high level of cushioning.

Developed internally to Saucony it is obtained by using TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) that is air injected and steam pressed together. The result is unprecedented: it maintains the high level of energy return of Everun but is significantly lighter (25%). All for a luxurious underfoot feel that won't break down!

"We named it for what it is. A Triumph." ~ Saucony

As a result of using a TPU based foam, the Triumph 17's midsole has a great resistance to temperature change. Indeed, when the foot lands on the ground, the impact and the pressure of the foot against the shoe creates energy that heat up the midsole, impacting directly the durability and efficiency of the cushioning. The PWRRUN+ is 3x more durable and 3x less temperature sensitive than a traditional EVA foam.

  • New FORMFIT design

By saving weight on the midsole, Saucony was able to add more structure to the upper. The ISOFIT from the previous model has been replaced by an expanded FORMFIT design. Overall the shoes fit feet more securely without feeling restrictive.

  • Price: £135
  • Weight: 280g / 238g
  • Drop: 8mm

KEY IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Voronoi patterns

These patterns on the midsole are distinct and noticeable to the eye. In this 10th version New Balance have changed the structure of the foam from a hexagonal lattice to voronoi lattice. This voronoi geometry delivers more premium cushioning and much better energy return than the previous model.

  • New Hypoknit upper

This new upper has been designed as one continuous piece of fabric. Crafted with obsession to detail, materials and design, the upper provides a premium, supportive and soft fit. It’s designed to be stretchy and breathable, and give the midfoot a lot of lockdown, without adding additional layers or splits in the pattern.

Asics Gel-Nimbus 22

  • Category: Neutral Soft
  • Price: £155
  • Weight: 310g / 255g
  • Drop: 10mm / 13mm

The Gel-Nimbus is designed to provide maximum comfort and the highest level of shock absorption. The new design is meant to deliver more protection, responsiveness and stability than ever before.

KEY IMPROVEMENTS:

  • New wrap around GEL technology and Flytefoam

The iconic shock absorption technology used by ASICS since 1986 is featured in this 22nd version of the Nimbus in a new wrap-around unit design in the heel to give greater shock absorption. There is GEL in the forefoot too (not visible from the outside).

Like the previous model, the Gel-Nimbus 22 features a Flytefoam midsole. But this time, it’s composed Flytefoam and Flytefoam Propel – lightweight materials that provide great responsiveness due to the bounce-back nature of the material.

  • Category: Stability Soft
  • Price: £120
  • Weight: 289g / 264g
  • Drop: 8mm

The Saucony Guide 13 has seen significant updates from its predecessor: the Guide ISO 2. Like the Triumph 17, it features new PWRRUN cushioning. And incorporates Saucony’s new Fluid Guidance system for stability. The shoe provides a soft feeling that has just enough responsiveness and additional control.

KEY IMPROVEMENTS:

  • New PWRRUN foam

This new material, an upgrade to traditional EVA polymers, provides a more responsive feel than PWRRUN+ but is still highly cushioned. This material rebounds better that the previous one, 4% points higher. It provides a soft feeling that has just enough responsiveness to feel good when running at steadier paces.

  • New Fluid Guidance support system

A TPU bracket runs from about the midfoot to the heel in order to guide runners that have a slight excessive pronation. The medial TPU guidance frame quickly guides each foot through its natural gait cycle for a very smooth feeling underfoot.

  • FORMFIT upper

The ISOFIT is gone, replaced by an engineered upper. It has been replaced by FORMFIT, which surrounds the foot with a 'made-for-me' feel that can accommodate a wide range if foot shapes.

  • Category: Stability Responsive
  • Price: £105

ASICS take the trusted lightweight and stable GT-1000 to the next level with this 9th version of the shoe. New updates on the midsole should result in a shoe that feels protective underfoot, but delivers a highly responsive feel.

KEY IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Addition of rearfoot GEL technology

The previous version of the GT-1000 didn't feature a GEL unit in the heel. In this new model, a bottom-loaded GEL technology positions the cushioning element closer to the ground, imparting a softer feel at foot strike.

  • New Flytefoam Propel midsole

Moreover the shoe has been updated with Flytefoam Propel technology midsole foam for a bouncier ride. This, combined with the GEL technology cushioning, gives this update improved underfoot comfort.
