Dr Ron Hill MBE was the first British runner to win the Boston Marathon in 1970. He also became the Commonwealth Games Marathon champion in the same year. However, his list of achievements in 1970 doesn’t stop there, as he also founded the brand Ronhill. Since then, Ronhill has cemented itself as one of the most iconic British Running Clothing brands. We stock both of Ronhill’s Trail Running Shoes: the men’s and women’s Reverence and the men’s and women’s Freedom. The Freedom Trail Running Shoes are designed for firm ground. In contrast, the Ronhill Reverence Trail Running Shoes are intended for use on soft ground. As the range has been designed by Harry Bolton, British U23 Fell Running Champion, you can be assured they’ll stand up to the rigours of British trails. Ronhill has also partnered with expert brands to provide the best performance possible. Both models feature a MatryxⓇ upper and a Michelin outsole. Although, as the Freedom and Reverence Trail Running Shoes are designed for different end uses, the Michelin outsoles have specific points of difference. Optimised for firmer ground, the Freedom have a 4 mm lug outsole pattern that promotes grip over a wide range of terrain. The Michelin rubber compound in the Freedom is designed to deliver maximum durability. Exactly what you need if you’re transitioning between road-like surfaces and softer ground. On the other hand, the Reverence have deep 7 mm lugs and a stickier rubber compound. This helps promote maximum grip on soft, muddy, and loose technical terrain. This level of traction should also help you power up hills with more ease and come back down feeling more confident. One of the standout features in the Ronhill Trail Running Shoes is the True-Fit Last design. With a unique fit, that mirrors the form of the human foot, they should provide more space in the toe box area for your feet to splay.
