Run4It Edinburgh Maybury - Assistant Manager (Fixed Term)

• Job type: Full-time, Fixed term contract
• Contract length: 12 months
• Hours: 42.5 hours over 5 days per week
• Start date: 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027
• Location: Maybury, Turnhouse Road

We are Scotland's leading independent running retailer with 7 shops across Scotland and a growing online business. We are multi-award winners and have been recognised throughout the UK for our customer service and as the best independent running retailer. We are looking for a career-minded Assistant Manager to join us in our Maybury shop on a fixed term basis.

Having established ourselves in the running community across Edinburgh, we would like a passionate runner with existing retail experience to join our team and become an ambassador of our brand and business.

As an Assistant Manager you will have at least two years retail experience, a working knowledge of Key Performance Indicators, EPOS and stock systems. You will have a proven track record that demonstrates a commitment to customer service and sales. Working in partnership with the shop Manager you will have the drive and commitment to motivate the team and deliver excellent customer service. As a people-oriented business, we expect our management team to have good people skills and understand the importance of working as a team.

Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:

• Overseeing the daily operations of the retail store;
• Taking ownership of the store’s appearance, cleanliness and organisation;
• Ensuring an exemplary standard of service and customer experience in-store consistent with our brand;
• Working proactively to maximise sales and to inspire the team around you;
• Recruiting, developing and motivating a strong retail team that shares our passion and vision;
• Organising and managing running events and being prepared to participate in the weekly RunClub when it resumes;
• Building a strong network of customers and partners in the local area;
• Devising and planning programs to drive in store traffic and brand awareness in the local area;
• Helping to organise and plan social media posts.
