Track running is one of the purest forms of the sport. Running on a track is also a great way of incorporating speed work into your routine. Our track spikes collection at Run4It includes a range of options that are suitable for varying distances and types of track events. adidas and Nike are the giants of the track world. The track running spikes we stock at Run4It, such as the Nike ZoomX Dragonfly, are worn by some of best athletes in the world and are worn in major track competitions. If you’re a sprinter and want to run fast, choose from a range of dedicated sprinting spikes. Designed to transfer maximum energy and keep you on your toes, sprinting spikes are the ultimate tool for breaking records. Immersing yourself in the world of lactic acid during middle distance events requires a different tool again. As the heel is more likely to touch the ground, middle distance track running spikes have more cushioning at the rearfoot area than sprinting spikes. They’re also made with a less aggressively angled midsole. Some runners take on longer distances on the track, such as the 1500, 3000, 5000 and 10,000 metres. For this length of track run, choose from our range of long distance track running spikes. Built with more cushioning and a less aggressive shape than sprint and middle distance spikes, they should help lower the stress placed on the Achilles tendon and calf muscles. Some long distance track spikes even include superfoam materials, like Nike’s ZoomX foam, which were previously reserved for the road alone. While runners often do their track training sessions in road running shoes, particularly longer intervals, some prefer to put their track spikes on. We recommend opting for a long distance track running spike for longer training sessions, over a sprint or middle distance spike, to lower the risk of injury. All-round track running spikes are designed for field events, such as the long jump, high jump and throwing events.
