Dare to be different with a Virtual Kilomathon on Sunday 11th April.
Keeping motivation high during lockdown is essential, and one of the best ways to do this is to work towards a goal! The 2021 Kilomathon will take place virtually on Sunday 11th April, with hundreds running together across the UK.
There are four Kilomathon distances to choose from – the 26.2K is a great distance for those looking to step-up from a half marathon and are training for a marathon. The 13.1K is an excellent distance for those looking to step-up from a 10K and training for a half/marathon, or looking for a bridging gap between a 10K/half. The 6.55K is an ideal step-up from a 5K, or as a stepping stone to the 10K distance. The 2.62K junior race is a fun race for kids and a great way for them to get the whole family involved.
Run Balmoral promises to be an epic weekend and festival of running, offering Junior races (1.5K & 2.5K) and the ever popular 5K & 10K on the Saturday, followed by the Duathlon and Trail Races (3 Miles or 15 Miles) on the Sunday. Not to mention the notorious 'Devil of Deeside’ (see website for details)!
Run the heart and soul of Inverness on Sunday 13th March 2022.
The Inverness 1/2 Marathon follows a scenic route through the Highland capital with great PB potential. For anyone looking for a shorter distance, there is also the Inverness 5K – suitable for all ages and running abilities.
Your challenge, your rules – with multiple distances to choose to take on virtually over the May Bank Holiday weekend, including the marathon, half marathon, team relay, 10k, 5k and junior races – there really is something for everyone.
Test your stamina and strength in the beautiful, rugged and wild surrounds of iconic Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, with the all-new LochNess360ﹾ Challenge, a three-day running and cycling event in Scotland happening between Friday 28th – Sunday 30th May 2021.
There are 3 challenges for participants to choose from:
The 3 Marathons, 3 Days Challenge : Run one, two or all three marathons over the weekend
The Ultra Marathon Challenge : Take on 129km and over 3000m of ascent within a time limit of 24 hours. If you plan on undertaking the entire route of the LochNess360ﹾ Trail, then you must be very experienced in off-road trail running and have experience of completing long ultra marathons (88km plus). This is not a challenge for beginners!
The Mountain Bike Challenge : Cover 80 miles in just 14 hours.
Journey through the wild and majestic landscape of the Cairngorms National Park at the Cairngorms Ultra Trail Race on Saturday 5th June 2021 – a brand new event for 2021 and UTMB qualifying race.
The event is based from the spectacular setting of Mar Lodge, three miles to the west of Braemar and follows a 62km circular route of the wide open spaces of the Ben Avon plateau.
You do not have to be super fast or an elite athlete to enter, although some ultra running experience will be required.
The first-ever Virtual Men's 10K Glasgow takes place on Sunday 29th August with hundreds of men running together across the UK, supporting each other, and raising much needed funds for charity! More than just a 10K, the event aims to be a catalyst for thousands of guys in Glasgow and beyond, to lace up their trainers and make a positive difference to their lives. Whether you’re running for a personal challenge, to lose weight or quit smoking, or for a cause close to your heart - by simply getting out there, you’ve already won!
If you want to set a personal best for a half marathon, then this is the event for you. Starting just outside Edinburgh, you run along the magnificent East Lothian Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse, Scotland’s oldest racecourse.
Taking place on the same day as the half marathon, Sunday 19th September, the Scottish 10K follows an equally flat and rapid route, out and back along the magnificent Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse.
If you want to set a personal best for a 10K, this is the event for you!
Come and experience the magic at the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon on 3 October 2021, one of the most beautiful marathons in the world. The award-winning Loch Ness Marathon follows a spectacular point-to-point route alongside the world’s most famous loch. The Festival of Running also features the River Ness 10K renowned for its PB potential, the popular River Ness 5K open to all ages and Wee Nessie kids’ race. Why not make a weekend of it and come with family and friends?
The inaugural Women’s 10K Edinburgh will take place on Sunday 24th October. Like the Men’s 10K, it starts on the historic Royal Mile and finishes at the iconic BT Murrayfield Stadium.
The event provides a platform to thousands of women on their journey to becoming a fitter, healthier and happier person.
