Altra Olympus

The Altra Olympus is an off-road favourite with many of our team and like its stablemate the Lone Peak is a shoe which has created a real buzz in the trail running market in recent years! It’s the trail shoe which offers the most cushioning and protection in the Altra trail range. With a reputation as a true workhorse which can deal with almost any trail, the Olympus has consistently provided outstanding levels of robust and reliable comfort. The latest version, the Olympus 5, uses Altra’s spacious Original FootShape Fit for a roomy feel, ideal when covering long distances when foot swelling may become an issue. As with all models in the Altra range, the Olympus uses a Balanced Cushioning Platform to give a natural feel when placing your foot and encourages low-impact form throughout your run. The EGO MAX midsole is formed of compression moulded EVA foam which lends an element of stability on uneven terrain while the high stack height of 33mm gives a real sense of protection on the roughest ground. The Vibram Megagrip outsole brings secure and reliable levels of traction in all conditions and is also durable and hard-wearing enough for some road use on your way to the trails. The engineered mesh upper has been redesigned to bring added durability and long-lasting comfort to the trails and will stand up to the rigours of the longest, most punishing trail runs!
