On Cloudsurfer

We stock a wide range of On running shoes at Run4It. However, the On Cloudsurfer arguably delivers the smoothest underfoot experience out of all of them. Why is that? Well, the Cloudsurfer features On’s latest cushioning innovation: CloudTec Phase. On utilised Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to simulate how the midsole would react to a runner’s gait. This enabled them to create a midsole that optimises the weight transfer from heel to toe. If you look at the midsole, you’ll see the cutouts change from a vertical orientation to a horizontal angle. If you then think about knocking over a row of dominoes, that’s what’s happening under your feet. This ultra smooth cushioning is named CloudTec Phase. In our experience at Run4It, the Cloudsurfer is the softest feeling On running shoe at the time of writing. While the midsole plays a big part in this plush underfoot feel, the Cloudsurfer is the first On running shoe to not have a Speedboard. As a result, your feet sit directly on top of the cushioned midsole. We believe the Cloudsurfer is best suited to slower paced runs. That’s because the midsole feels really comfortable when your feet are on the ground for a long time. The plush nature of the cushioning is exactly what you want when you’re taking it easy. On the flipside, this soft midsole and lack of Speedboard doesn't lend the Cloudsurfer to faster paced runs. You’ll likely feel as if you’re lacking some responsiveness. For steady paced runs, we would recommend the On Cloudstratus running shoes. If you’re interested, the Cloudsurfer’s yarn is coloured using a dope dyeing process. Why’s that important? Well the process requires 90% less water than standard techniques. In addition, the upper doesn’t feature any plastic overlays and the shoe’s total recycled content is 30%.
