- What to expect
Our sessions follow structured training cycles around major marathon periods (Jan–May & Jun–Oct), with interval-based workouts, clear progression, and planned load/de-load weeks.
The runs are also suitable for people who are not preparing for an event. The structure of the runs is tailored to help a wide range of abilities, and those who are simply trying to improve their fitness.
- Who it’s for
Everyone! If you want to take the guesswork out of training and run at the right pace/effort, this is for you. Our Run Club Leaders will guide you through each session, whatever your goal or experience level.

All Run Club participants must be over the age of 18.
- When can I join?
Anytime. There’s no commitment to attend a specific period or number of sessions – join whenever it suits you. Jump in at any stage of the cycle; even occasional attendance brings real benefits.

Nairn Road Runners
Nairn Road Runners are a small, friendly club, located in the coastal town of Nairn who cater for all running abilities. They run on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, details and times can be found on their website. We have been working with NRR since December 2013 supporting both their Turkey Trot on Boxing Day and 10K in March.
Inverness Harriers
Inverness Harriers is the largest running club in the Highlands based at Queens Park, boasting a whopping membership of over 300, including 3 of our own staff. Being our local club, Run4It has always worked closely with the Harriers, resulting in a great partnership; we support them at events, and they support us in the shop. Whether it is track or field, cross country or road running you’re interested in, the Harriers will cater to it. Meeting twice a week, the details can be found on their website.
Highland Hill Runners
The most elusive of running clubs in the Highlands – If you manage to catch 5 members together, it’s an achievement! They specialise in hill running, with some cross country thrown in, and only running on the road when they really have to. Training happens on Tuesday, but members will meet for unofficial training sessions throughout the week.
jogscotland
We are really pleased to continue to work closely with jogscotland who now have several groups in the local area, including Muir of Ord, Culduthel and at the local Leisure Centre. To find out more about meet up times and locations please visit:
Inverness Half Marathon & 5K
The Inverness Half Marathon is the perfect spring race to keep you motivated and training through the winter months. This popular race follows a scenic route with great PB potential through the Highland capital of Inverness. The route starts alongside the banks of the River Ness near the centre of Inverness and takes in many of the city’s icons. A warm Highland welcome awaits all runners as they approach the finish line on entering Queen’s Park Stadium at Inverness Sports Centre – achieved by nearly 3000 runners in 2019.
Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running
The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon is quite possibly one of the most stunning marathons in the world. With spectacular scenery, fantastic atmosphere and a truly memorable experience – it’s no wonder it was voted in the top 10 UK marathons by Runner’s World readers in 2016 and is on the bucket list for many runners from around the world. The Loch Ness Marathon follows a spectacular point-to-point route alongside world famous Loch Ness, starting in an atmospheric moorland setting and continues through stunning Highland scenery, taking you along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, across the River Ness, to finish in Inverness, capital city of the Highlands.
For those working towards a shorter race distance, there's the popular the River Ness 10K and 5K - ideal for first timers, PB chasers and everyone in between.
