Underfoot Feel
The 4 mm heel-to-toe drop and rocker geometry should promote quick and smooth transitions from landing to take-off. This should be helpful when you're covering technical terrain.
A lightweight, compression moulded EVA midsole foam should feel both protective and responsive underfoot. Ideal for training on a mixture of surfaces - including tarmac.
The Altra Experience Wild 2 Running Shoes have a MaxTrac™ outsole. This grippy compound offers great traction and durability.
Upper Fit
As mentioned, the Altra Experience Wild 2 Running Shoes have Altra's Standard FootShape™ fit. This roomy toe box helps your feet splay naturally.
A mesh upper helps improve breathability. Importantly, TPU overlays enhance protection and durability. For example, the overlay at the toe box should protect your toes if you hit your foot off a hard object - such as a rock or tree root.

We recommend choosing the Altra Men's Experience Wild 2 Running Shoes if you run on a mixture of surfaces. While this model is ideal for a wide variety of off-road terrain, it should work very well for door-to-trail runs.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
