Description

Advice for Road Runners: The Brooks Women's Ghost Max Running Shoes are unique shoes in their own right. For the avoidance of doubt, the Ghost Max should not be seen as simply being a more cushioned version of the ever-popular Brooks Ghost.

Underfoot Experience

The Ghost Max have a number of features which work in harmony to produce a beneficial outcome for runners. Firstly, the midsole contains Brooks' DNA LOFT v2 material and is built on a high stack height. Secondly, a GlideRoll Rocker is included in the shoes' design. Finally, the heel to toe drop is relatively low at 6 mm, and the base of these neutral running shoes is broad. The outcome of all of this is running shoes that are well-placed to help you move through the gait cycle with ease and efficiency.

They should feel particularly good if you have tightness in your ankles and/or calf muscles.

Upper Fit

The upper of the Ghost Max features engineered mesh: providing excellent breathability. It is also well worth noting that there is a lot of volume in the upper - which maximises the chance of an accommodating fit. The linear last construction should allow them to be very capable of coping with the shape of an orthotic.

Ideal Run Type

The Brooks Women's Ghost Max Running Shoes are likely to be best suited to training runs which take place at easy to moderate speeds. We expect them to be particularly beneficial and comfortable if you have tightness in your ankles and/or calf muscles. You may not want to use the Ghost Max for every run, but having them available for runs when you may be tired and tight from a previous run may be a good idea.

Brooks Run Happy Promise: Take your Brooks gear for a 90-day trial run. Put it through its paces and sweat in it as much as you want. If you are not 100% satisfied, return it to us for free.

Sizing Advice

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
