Underfoot Feel
The dual-density midsole features a top layer of super-critical EVA foam. This should feel soft and energetic underfoot - ideal for long-distance trail runs.
The key point to talk about in the HOKA Mafate 5 Running Shoes is the Rocker Integrity Technology Plate. Made from light, pliable TPU, the curved plate improves propulsion - but most importantly, it helps maintain the rocker shape over lots of miles.
If you're unfamiliar with the benefits of a rocker shape, HOKA's Smooth MetaRocker™ technology helps to roll your feet forward. Hopefully reducing the load on your working muscles.
A heel-focused Active Foot Frame™ helps stabilise your feet and ankles on uneven terrain.
Finally, a Vibram® Megagrip - with Traction Lug technology - offers great grip. 5 mm lugs ensure optimum traction on a range of loose and hard-packed surfaces.
Upper Fit
The highly-technical upper has a warp knit with anti-fray treatment. A TPU cage helps improve support, while keeping weight down.
As the HOKA Mafate 5 Running Shoes' upper has a dynamic vamp, it should adjust to foot swelling.
Attachment points make it easy to add a gaiter.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
