Underfoot Experience
New Fresh Foam X midsole foam provides high levels of cushioning. The level of cushioning stems from the quality of the material itself and the stack height. Soft, plush cushioning is what you should feel underneath your feet in the 1080v13 - which are neutral running shoes.
If you examine the outsole of these shoes, you will notice the vertical flex grooves. The purpose of these flex grooves - which in effect run front to back as opposed to side to side - is to increase forefoot stiffness and help heel to toe transition. This should be particularly beneficial for helping you to move efficiently through your training miles.
Upper Fit
The upper is soft and breathable. Designed to provide a supportive fit.

The New Balance Men's Fresh Foam X 1080v13 Running Shoes are best suited to training runs at steady paces. Ideal for runs when a shoe's energy return isn't the top priority. The soft cushioning and outsole design should help you to find and maintain a steady pace throughout your run.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
