Underfoot Feel
The 860 V14's midsole contains two layers of foam, consisting of:
- a top layer of softer foam - to enhance comfort and protection; and
- a bottom layer of firmer foam - to slow down the speed and amount of pronation.
A rocker profile should help to ensure smooth and efficient movement through the gait cycle.
The midsole features an EVA film (named Stability Plane), which runs through the two layers of foam. This improves the stability of the midsole, and shouldn't compromise the sensation of cushioning.
Upper Fit
The New Balance 860 V14 Running Shoes have a supportive engineered mesh upper. This should mirror the structured feel of the midsole.
Ideal Run Type
The New Balance Fresh Foam X 860 V14 Running Shoes are suitable for a wide range of road runs. The midsole should feel relatively soft and bouncy, and should offer a lot of stability. As a result, the cushioning should be well suited to short and long-distance runs at both slow and steady paces.
