Advice for Road Runners: The Nike Men's Infinity RN 4 Road Running Shoes provide supportive cushioning.
The midsole contains Nike's ReactX foam, which offers 13% more energy return in comparison to Nike's React foam. The previous version of this style had a midsole containing React foam.
ReactX also reduces its carbon footprint in a pair of midsoles by at least 43% in comparison to Nike React foam*.
**The carbon footprint of ReactX is based on cradle-to-gate assessment reviewed by PRé Sustainability B.V and Intertek China. Other midsole components such as airbags, plates and other foam formulations were not considered.
It is worth remembering that the Infinity RN 4 provides additional stability in comparison to neutral running shoes. A lot of this added stability stems from the combination of tuned support and intentionally placed cushioning. While the ReactX foam creates smooth cushioning, the midsole does not feel overly soft underfoot. This should be a good thing, as it is providing shock absorption and energy return, but is not collapsing under pressure.
The curved outsole helps your feet to move easily through the gait cycle.
A waffle outsole generates traction.
The Flyknit upper fits in a similar way to how a sock fits. I.e. the upper sits close to your foot. An internal Flyknit fit band (like an elasticated band and around the middle of your foot) offers stretchy, but secure support for your midfoot.
A wider toe box provides plenty of room for your toes to splay at the push off stage of the gait cycle.
The Infinity RN 4 has a water-repellent liner in the front of the toe box. This helps to keep your toes drier in wet weather.
Nike acknowledged that these have a snug fit. We recommend ordering a half-size up from your normal Nike running shoes.
The Nike Men's Infinity RN 4 Road Running Shoes are best for easy to steady paced training runs on the road.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
