Advice for Trail Runners: Featuring aggressive 5 mm lugs, the Salomon Men's Thundercross Running Shoes are designed for muddy runs.
The Salomon Thundercross Running Shoes are not exclusively for muddy runs, but that's when the grip will perform at its best.
As the lugs on the Contagrip outsole have lots of space between them, it's less likely that mud will accumulate. Crucially, this should maintain your grip levels.
A relatively thick layer of Energy Foam cushioning offers good protection. As a result, the Thundercross should feel comfortable on harder-packed trails.
Salomon's technical expertise is evident in the Thundercross Trail Running Shoes' upper. Their signature Sensifit technology should offer a consistent fit that feels secure and supportive.
The Quicklace design also improves the consistency of the fit - as the lace pressure shouldn't change over the course of a run. This system tucks away under a pocket on the top of the tongue.
When it's wet and muddy underfoot, the Salomon Men's Thundercross Running Shoes should be your go-to options. However, these have also been tested on rocky slopes and rolling terrain - making them a viable option for a wide range of surfaces.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
