Description

Advice for Road Runners: The Saucony Men's Guide 17 Road Running Shoes feature some of the most exciting updates that we've seen for the SS24 season. The Saucony Guide is a very well-established style of stability running shoes. However, it looks as though it has got a lot better - primarily by delivering better comfort and stability.

Underfoot Feel

Expect the Guide 17 to feel very comfortable and stable underfoot. Saucony's Center Path Technology is responsible for a lot of the Guide 17's performance as it includes the following features and benefits:

  1. A broad base - consisting of 10% greater width at the heel and 12% greater width at the midfoot - creates a stable base to land and push off from.
  2. The midsole has elevated side walls which wrap your foot for improved comfort and stability.
  3. A straighter midfoot profile on the medial side for improved stability.
  4. A lateral heel bevel designed to resist medial motion that would lead to instability.

The midsole is made from Saucony's PWRRUN foam. This material is plush and durable, and entirely focussed on comfort. A PWRUN+ Sockliner also helps with underfoot comfort.

Upper Fit

The upper is designed to hold your feet securely without the chance of pressure from the laces. Aligned with the midsole design, comfort has been a driving factor behind the design philosophy.

Ideal Run Type

The Saucony Men's Guide 17 Road Running Shoes are for road runs when comfort and added stability are a priority. They are not designed to be the fastest shoes ever made. Their purpose is to help you to log your training miles in maximum comfort.

Technical Features

  • Approximate weight: 269 grams
  • Drop: 6 mm
  • Forefoot stack height: 29 mm
  • Rearfoot stack height: 35 mm

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
