We follow Chiara as she puts the Saucony Peregrine ISO to the test on the trails in the Pentlands.
A versatile trail shoe, great on all sorts of terrain.
“My name is Chiara and I am an ultra-trail runner. I love trail running because I get to live in the moment and feel freedom. I can forget about time and keep going for hours when I am on the trails.
The Saucony Peregrine was my first ever pair of trail shoes and it has been a trusty companion for a lot of adventures. It has always been my most versatile trail shoe and is great on all sorts of terrain.
They feel as comfortable as a road shoe. They take me straight from the city to the trails and up to ultra-marathon distances thanks to the EVERUN topsole construction, which gives enhanced energy return and continuous cushioning.
I like the addition of the rock plate under the forefoot as it gives me a protective layer against sharp surfaces and debris.
Whether I run on hard-packed trails, muddy paths, grass, wet rocks, or sand, the PWRTRAC outsole is versatile and reliable. The lugs are very durable and offer a stable ride underfoot – even for those who, like myself, run in a stability road shoe and need added confidence on irregular surfaces.
The new Peregrine has an improved ISOFIT upper that adapts perfectly to the shape and motion of my foot, meaning I can lace them up, forget about them and just have fun on the trails.”
