Advice for Road Runners: The Altra Women's AltraFWD Experience are Neutral Running Shoes and feature a 4 mm drop from heel to toe. A never before seen lightweight foam offers great protection and energy return. Meaning this Triple Black edition combines performance and style.
A lightweight, compression-moulded foam offers a protective underfoot sensation, that also feels energetic. Meaning it can adapt well to changes in pace.
The AltraFWD Experience midsole features a prominent rocker shape geometry. This simply means the heel to toe is curved. As a result, the midsole should roll your foot forward and encourage efficient toe-offs. You may also find it takes some of the effort out of your runs.
These Altra Running Shoes have a Standard FootShape Fit toe box. Whilst this isn't as wide as Altra's Original FootShape Fit, it still offers a lot of space in the forefoot. If you have a broad forefoot, there's a good chance these will feel comfortable.
A simple engineered mesh makes up the majority of the AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes' upper.
We expect you'll enjoy using the Altra Women's AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes for your slower to steady paced runs. This is because the cushioning has the potential to feel great over a range of paces. For similar reasons, the cushioning should feel comfortable for shorter distances, as well as longer miles.
As the AltraFWD Experience have a 4 mm drop from heel to toe, they should suit heel and midfoot strikers.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
