Advice for Road Runners: The Altra Women's AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes in the White colourway offer a protective and propulsive underfoot sensation. For the first time, these Altra Running Shoes feature a drop from heel to toe.
With a lightweight, compression-moulded foam, the AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes should feel protective, yet responsive. Great attributes for making your slower to steady paced runs feel easier.
You might notice the curve from heel to toe in the midsole. This rocker shape geometry smooths out the transition throughout the gait cycle. Whilst also promoting an efficient toe-off.
The AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes feature Altra's Standard FootShape Fit toe box. As a result, they should feel spacious in the forefoot.
In keeping with the performance-orientated underfoot sensation, the engineered mesh upper feels light and breathable.
We recommend using the Altra Women's AltraFWD Experience Running Shoes for slower to steady paced runs. That's because the cushioning feels protective at easy efforts, and more propulsive as the pace increases. The high level of cushioning also means they're likely to perform over a range of distances - including short and long distance runs.
As the AltraFWD Experience have a 4 mm drop from heel to toe, it's likely they're better suited to heel strikers than 0 mm drop Altra Running Shoes. Although, this is not always the case.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
