Underfoot Feel
As mentioned, the Pegasus Trail 4 GORE-TEX running shoes contains Nike React cushioning. You may recognise this cushioning technology from some of Nike's road running shoes. It offers lots of protection and energy return. Meaning it performs on both road and off-road terrain.
The rubber pattern on the outsole optimises grip on a range of surfaces. As the lugs aren't very deep, the chances of comfort on hard packed terrain are increased. At the same time, the additional grip aids traction on looser surfaces, such as grass and forest trails.
Upper Fit
The Nike Pegasus Trail 4 features a fully waterproof invisible fit GORE-TEX upper. This means water can't enter the fabric and your feet stay dry. Unless you step into water which is above your ankles, these trail running shoes will be waterproof.
The in-built gaiter reduces the chances of debris entering, and is barely noticeable. The general fit of the upper is very accommodating.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Men's Pegasus 4 GORE-TEX Waterproof Trail Running Shoes are a great option for wet weather runs. That's because they'll keep your feet dry and protected from the elements. Having said that, trails can be wet and saturated, even when the weather is relatively dry. You may want to opt for these, even when the conditions look favourable.
Due to the versatile nature of the grip and protective midsole, these should feel comfortable on sections of road. While we don't recommend these as your main road running shoes, they're ideal for getting to and from trails.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
