Underfoot Feel
The Nike Women's Pegasus Trail 4 cushioning feels very close to what road running shoes feel like. That's because it features Nike's popular React foam. The cushioned and responsive foam offers great protection on the road, but helps you maintain your pace on softer surfaces.
Additional grip on the outsole enhances traction on soft ground, grass, forest trails and rolling tracks. However, as the lugs aren't very deep, the outsole feels smooth and comfortable on tarmac and hard terrain.
Upper Fit
Specific details on the upper of the Nike Pegasus Trail 4 indicate these are for off-road running. For example, an extra skin overlay across the toe increases durability.
Flywire technology in the midfoot delivers additional support in a key area. As trail running normally involves running over uneven surfaces, it's important your feet are secure.
Ideal Run Type
One of the most appealing qualities about the Nike Women's Pegasus Trail 4 running shoes is how versatile they are. We recommend choosing them if you're running on light trails, but have significant stretches of hard packed terrain at the start and finish of your runs.
However, if you live close to a network of well-worn trail paths, these would be excellent dedicated trail running shoes. In our experience, a lot of runners find these very comfortable for walking too.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
