Advice for Road Runners: The Saucony Men's Guide 16 in the Indigo/Black colourway are stability running shoes. They're one of the lightest feeling stability running shoes in our range and feel ultra cushioned.
Expect the Saucony Men's Guide 16 stability running shoes to feel soft and protective underfoot. That's because the midsole features a thick layer of PWRRUN cushioning. Your feet also sit on top of a PWRRUN+ sockliner. This premium insert should feel plush and very comfortable.
The Guide 16 are stability running shoes because they feature additional support. A TPU guidance frame, named HOLLOW-TECH, delivers extra arch support. This structure reduces greater ranges of pronation. However, as softer foam sits on top of the guidance frame, it shouldn't feel intrusive.
Extra support in the Saucony Guide 16 extends to the upper too. To explain further, the upper should encapsulate your feet, and mid-foot webbing locks your feet in. The lightweight mesh upper should be breathable and comfortable.
The Saucony Men's Guide 16 stability running shoes are well suited to runners with greater ranges of pronation. We recommend using these shoes for slower to steady paced runs and longer distances. This is mainly because the cushioning feels soft and plush underfoot.
As the midsole has a curve from heel-to-toe, the Guide 16 should lower the stress on calf muscles. If this is an area that gets tight when you run, these may be a good option for you.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
