Advice for Road Runners: The visually-stunning Endorphin Speed 2 RunShield offers you all the Endorphin Speed 2, but with added protection for training in the harshest conditions. The Endorphin Speed 2 Runshield uses a semi-rigid nylon plate providing a slightly softer underfoot feel more suited to training, but still beneficial for some racing. The PWRRUN PB midsole foam is a Pebax and TPU blend, making it extremely lightweight and springy. Perfect for fast running, this midsole material is 40% lighter and 88% more energy returning than PWRRUN+, Saucony’s next most premium cushioning.

The nylon plate adds structure to the foam midsole, creating a springboard effect while also enhancing the rolling motion of the shoe. This rocker-like technology, called SpeedRoll, combines the curved geometry with a stiff forefoot to enhance your flow and help you pick up speed. It helps by lifting the heels up and pushing the hips forward as you move through the gait cycle to create forward momentum. This effect improves your ability to run faster for longer as your muscles and tendons won’t fatigue as quickly. Updates to this latest version include enhanced ankle support for a more secure hold around the heel.

This RunShield version of the shoe offers additional protection from the elements through use of a water-resistant membrane upper. It also features COLDTRAC outsole rubber which is designed to improve traction on cold surfaces. Finally, additional reflectivity features on the tongue and heel tab enhance safety in low-light conditions.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
